Mr G. Thompson, Cambridge street, left yesterday with his daughter Kathleen on a visit to Wellington. Messrs C. Barrett, Alee Gunn and Trevor Watson left on Sunday for a three weeks’ motor tour. They intend going as far north as Ninety Mile Beach and will be camping en route. Mr and Mrs E. T. Adams returned by car from a holiday in Napier on Sunday, bringing with them Master Dick Austin, who. has been holidaying m Haumoana. Cotter has been appointed starter for the chopping competitions at the Woodville Show, to be held on Pebruary 7th. Mr and Mrs G. Williamson, of Berhampore, Wellington, are the guests of Mr and Mrs T. Stone, Main street. Mrs W. Barrett and family returned from Foxton beach on Saturday. Mr and Mrs C. Morgan, of Palmerston North, have taken up their residence for a month in Pahiatua. Mr Harry Gover, of the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, has gone on holiday to Whangarei. Mrs E. Heaphy and daughter Joyce, of Thorndon Quay, Wellington, have been spending the Christmas and hew Year holidays with tho former’s sister, Mrs P. Sadler, Hamua. Mr A. H. Farrell, for eight years Crown Lands Banger at Paeroa, has been promoted to head office of the Valuation Department at Whangarei. Mr Farrell made a brief visit to his mother, Mrs J. Farrell, Tyndall street, this week on his return from a business visit to Wellington.
