Cloudburst Causes Damage

SYDNEY, Jan. 13,

A cloudburst over the Newbridge and Trunkey districts, near Bathurst has caused widespread damage to farms, roads, bridges and homes. The streets of Trunkey were covered to a depth of several feet and flood waters entered many houses. Two bridges wero -washed away and the town practically isolated. Damage tj crops is very heavy.

Snowy River Six Miles Wide Received Monday, 9.50 p.m. SYDNEY, Jan. 13. Rising overnight after six inches of rain the flood along tho Snowy river is up to three miles wide and has again brought losses to Orbost farm-

ers. The damage iu these and tho Christmas floods is estimated at £50,000. Where the Brodribb river runs into tho Snowy river near Mario the flood is six miles wide.

Floods Continue at Home

After‘two nights of storm the weather has moderated, but reports from all the affected areas indicate that there is no abatement of flood waters at present. The second night of the storm was experienced over most of the British Isles, and this morning reports from the flooded areas indicate no improvement. The Thames in Old Windsor Egliani and Staines area rose several inches during the night.
