Colours

I am so cliarmcd with greens and yellows and blues That sometimes I scarce sec the shapes of things, Or what they are or mean.

Now I am stitching on dark green linen. I have stretched it across a terracotta board on my lap And the contrast so fascinates me I forget I dislike to use a needle.

Colours are poetry to me and music. They bring many moods. They quiet me by their delicacy. They stir me by their glory. Again they suggest far distant things And memory and hope busy themselves making a. pattern of the thoughts suddenly aroused.
