Proposal By Telephone
DOCTOR AND ACTRESS LONDON, Dec. 14. Dr. Frederick Harold Moran, of .Melbourne, telephoned from New York a proposal of marriage to Miss Polly Walker, a musical comedy film actress, who accepted the offer. Miss Walker, who is residing in London, will leave for New York on Monday. She said the wedding would probably take place at the “Little Church Round the Corner,” a famous place for marriages in New York. Miss Walker added: "I first met I)r. Mo'ran in February. Wo were friendly, but I had no idea that there was a
stronger bond until we went to New
York last month, after which we exchanged cables and had telephone talks. We shall spend the honeymoon in Bormuda, where I own a nice little property.”
Dr. Moran is a consulting physician in Harley street, and is specially interested in the treatment of children.
Miss Polly Walker will be remembered as the actress who was brought to Australia from America by Mr. E. C. Rolls’ World Productions, Ltd., to play in “The Merry Malones,” a musical comedy based on the play by Geo. M. Cohan. Sho travelled with the late Mr. It. Capron, who was recently drowned at Warrandyte.. Florenz Amez was a member of tho same company.
