Lost in the clouds during a violent storm, a British amateur pilot, Phil Avery, who was taking an aeroplane for delivery at Basle, struck and severed high-tension wires over Belfort fortress carrying 70,000 volts. He miraculously escaped uninjured and safely landed his crippled plane
