World’s Ten Most Fascinating Women
The world’s ten most fascinatiug women were named for the United Press in Paris by Miss Elsa Maxwell, the New York and Paris social leader. She picked them from royal courts, society, Hollywood, from visitors and one even from the air. • They are:—
Marlene Dietrich, Hollywood actress; Michael Strange, the writer who is the former Blanche Ulrich, of Newport, R. 1., the former wife of John Barrymore; Princess Eugene De Rothschild, the former Kitty Spottiswood, of Philadelphia; Daisy Reginald Fellowes, “World’s best dressed woman”; Lauy Elsie Wolfe Mendel, who has retained her sense of humour by standing on her head each morning; Gertrude t. min, American, who lives •in Prance a..d writes poetry; the Countess of Oxford, widow of the former Premier of Great Britain; Mrs. Robert li. McAdoo, of New York City; Collettc-Madame Maurice Goudekett —French authoress; and Amelia Earhart, American aviatrix, who ‘‘has everything that fascinates.” Fascination is an elusive quality that is fast disappearing, Miss Maxwell said, and it is hard to find because it has nothing to do with beauty, charm, glamour, riches or blueblood —only one woman in a thousand has it.
