Three rinks from Marlon Club visited Bulls and played games against the local club on Wednesday, resulting in a win for the local club by 3 points. Detailed scores are as follow, Marton players being mentioned first: Healy, Hempleman, Lourie, Barton (s) 25 beat Simpson, Tucker, Dwyer, Drew (s) 16. Death, Black, Morrisinon, Wilkie (s) 19 lost to Brookie, W. Pearce, Ingram, Walker (s) 20.

Mogridge, Watt, Ferens, Low (s) 15 lost to Ellery, Smart, Ransom, ' Stevens (s) 26. Totals: Marton 59; Bulls 62.

In a practice game ' Whitfield, Price, Wilson (s) 22 beat Hempleman, Ede, Cole (s) 14. The green was in first-class order and the weather conditions ideal for bowling. The ladies of the Croquet Club provided afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated.

Personal,

Mr. T. G. Graham, local representative for Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., for several years, has been promoted to Ihe position of Manager of the Feilding agency of the same firm. Regret will be felt at his departure and also of Mrs. Graham’s, who was keenly interested in the welfare of Bulls. Mr. G -aham was for some time hon. secretary of the Bulls-Ohakea Sports Club. Mr. S. Powell, of Taihape, takes over Mr; Graham’s position at Bulls. Mr. John Kearney, son of ML and Mrs. W. Kearney, of Bulls, has received advice that he has gained his degree of Bachelor of Commerce. Mr. Kearney first attended school at Buils, and is to be complimented on his notable achievement.

Mr. Peter and Miss Ralfe, with Mr. Montgomery and Mrs. Armstrong, all cf Bulls, have left on a motor trip to Auckland and district.

Mr. Haycock has returned from a visit to his parents at Tauranga, where ha spent Christmas. Mr. Jack Harris has returned heme from a motor tour of the Hast Coast. Town Board Meeting.

The monthly' meeting of tae Town Board was held on Thursday evening. Present: Cmrs. J. E. Walker (chairman), F. A. Holland, D. A. Lundy, A. W. Amon, C. H. Edwards, C. C. Price and J. JMansell.

Half-holiday.—lt was resolved that Wednesday half-holiday be retained. Foreman’s report.—Foreman S. Howard reported on work , done for the month ending January 9, as follows:—Engaged grubbing weeds off footpath in Bridge street and carting them away, cleaning qut gutter _in Flight greet gyjd carting

weeds away; scything- grass'on footpath in Bridge street; 1 carting • greenery for Christmas decorations and carting same away after the holidays; have patched main roads with lay-koid, repaired bridge across creek on Domain, cut hemlock on Domain, mowed gross on sports ground, and mowed paths at the cemetery. Sexton’s duties have been carried out at the cemetery. Transfer of property from W. H. Stevens to J. Jj. Homes was approved. Recreation ground.—The foreman reported that a mower had been borrowed, and grass cut. The whole grounds were now in very good order, and representatives of the Sports Club had expressed their satisfaction. It was reported that the board’s mower would be repaired and fit for use immediately.

Cemetery building.—The cemetery committee was authorised to proceed with the erection of a suitable building, in accordance with plans submitted, the cost not to exceed £l3O. Finance.—Collections for the month were as follow:—Rates £96 4s; rents £2O 4s 6d, heavy traffic license fees £26 10s, dog tax £1 7s 6d, library rents £2, library subscriptions £1 Os 6d, Domain £1 2s 6d; total £l4B 9s.
