Serious Accident Averted
NEW BALLANCE BRIDGE While endeavouring to negotiate a sharp bend in tho road near tho Ballaueo bridge on Thursday afternoon, a motor-car driven by Mr Teape, who was accompanied by Mrs Teape, left the road and bumped over a ditch, coining to a standstill close to a telegraph pole, both occupants having a narrow' escape from injury. Mr and Mrs Teape, who were motoring through the district, were returning from 'l’aupo. The car was hauled back on to the road and was able to proceed to Pahiatua, where Mr and Mrs Teape spent the night.
