Miss Coral Anderson, of Auckland, was A visitor to Awawaro during Christmas and New Year.
A happy picnic party spent an enjoyable day at the river on Boxing Day. Mr. Ronnie Brown has returned after spending a week on holiday at Kimbolton.
Valerie, the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Youle, who attended the Halcombe School, is at home with her j)arcnts for the summer holidays. Audrey and Gladys Le Quesne are away for their summer holidays. Rev. K. Patchell, of Apiti. will conduct a church service on the ISth instant at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Smith. It is hoped that as many as possible will attend.
Heather Wilson, daughter of Mrs. J. Smith, entertained a few of her young friends at a-birthday party last Saturday afternoon. The little people, Valerie Youle, Leila Pretious, Dawn Pretious, Margaret J. Smith, Michael McCartney and Manu Smith, enjoyed a number of games before sitting down to the birthday repast The birthday cake, made and decorated by her mother, was mounted by 13 candles and were lit by the boys and extinguished by the girls, the whole process causing lots of fun. More games followed and early in the evening the little folk staged an impromptu concert. It was fairly late before Heather bade her young friends goodnight.
