Cheltenham
On Friday evening Mr. and Mrs, Alfred Humphrey, wlio have just returned from their wedding tour, held fi reception in the Cheltenham hall. About a hundred friends of the couple were present from all parts of tho district. A happy time was spent, games and dancing together with several well rendered musical items being .the order of the evening.
Mr. Sinclair proposed the health of the young couple, the toast being drunk with musical honours. During the evening Miss Myrtle Guy, of Stanway, gave a delightful rendering of “Gipsy Moon,” and as an encore “Ah! Sweet Mystery of Life." Miss Anderson gave a most enjoyable guitar solo, “Hilo March,” and as an encore “Maori Melodies.” Miss Sinclair then entertained tho guests with a clever and graceful tap dance, which was much appreciated. Dance music was played by Mr. Mac Millan on his accordion, extras being contributed by Mr. E. Christian, of' Btanway. The party dispersed reluctantly after a most enjoyable evening with tho singing of “Auld Lang Syne,” and many happy wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Humphrey ,in their new sphere.
