Feilding Miniature Rifle Club
PINAL SHOOT DECIDED The Feilding Miniature Rifle Club closed its brief season with a final shoot held in the Drill hall on Monday evening.- The committee is well pleased with the success of the club which is now on a sound footing and so organised as to give promise for greater results when the season reopens in March next. Tt is proposed to join with the Manawatu Miniature Rifle Association in order to provide for the club holding inter-club shooting competitions. There are several really good prospective shots in the club and it is anticipated that they will give a good account of themselves in the association shoots next year. It is of interest to record that the range for miniature rifle practice is 25 yards and the conditions provide for eight shots (including an optional sighter). The possible for each range is 70. The bull’s eye is the size of the end of a lead pencil. When it is remembered that the , minutest waver means a "nine” or perhaps less, a shootist has a hard task to got the coveted possible. A double possible, i.e., 70 —7O—HO is what all aim for but rarely achieve. A great deal depends on the rifles used. Generally they are special target rifles equippeu with very fine adjustable sights and their accuracy may be gauged from the fact that they are capable of registering a group of shots through a J-inch hole at 30 yards distance. Tho committee desires to thank all those who have helped to promote fhe interests of tho club. The following are details of Monday’s shoot:—L. Shailer, 70—68—138; E. Clark, 68 —70 —138; N.
