Mr Coates as Godfather
INFANT SON OF WAR COMRADE. Per Press Association. NAPIEE, Nov. 21. Et. Hon. J. G., Coates this morning stood as godfather to John Gordon Lawrence Spealcinan, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. John Speakman, Napier. Mr. Coates and Mr. Speakman were together in France, and at Passckendale in 1917, together with Mr. Coates-’ batman, Mr. Lawrence Towers, fought ,a hot engagement, when 200 German prisoners were taken. The child .bears the names of the three men. '
