Hunterville Cattle Fair

The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report an entry of 350 head at the above fixture on Thursday. There was an exceptionally large attendance and the sale was the best held in Huntervillo for many years. Every lot submitted was keenly competed for, and the demand was sustained right throughout the sale. The highest price we received for forward 3-year P.A. bullocks was £7 14s for a nice pen on account of Mr. W. J. Ennis. Mr. F. Ehackleton’s pen of 40 realised £7 11s; Mr. E. O. Pryce’s £7 10s; Mr. J. Lambert’s £6 14s, and Mr. V. H. Anson’s £6 15s.

We quote our principal prices as follows:

Forward P.A. bullocks. £tl 14s to £7 14s; Hereford ditto, £5 13s to £0 ss; --year P.A. steers, £5 12s to £5 17s; j Hereford ditto, £5 to £5 12s; yearling steers, £4 <ss to £4 9s; smaller sorts, £3, 4s to £3 ss; forward empty heifers, £3' 14s, £4 to £4 ss; very forward cows, * £4 'to £4 Is; lighter sorts, £2 Cs, £2 1 Os', to £2 12s; store cows, 395; springing 1 heifers, £3 to £4 7s. ~ ~ , ,
