“BROWN ON RESOLUTION” Made with the full co-operation of the Admiralty, “Brown on Resolution," a powerful naval drama, will be finally screened at the State Theatre to-day. <- To-morrow—“ Orchids To You." Some of the most moving dramatic situations ever seen on the motion picture screen, along with sparkling dialogue and plenty- of natural comedy are combined to make “Orchids To You,” which starts its engagement to-morrow on the screen at the State Theatre, one of the most powerful and unusual romantic dramas, with a theme completely- out of the beaten track. John Boies, Filmdom’s most popular singing 'star, plays the role of a clever society' lawyer. Boies’ remarkable talents tend to make Fox Filin’s “Orchids To You” one of the season’s outstanding films. Jean Muir has the part of a beauteous iady florist, whose trade secrets could break a thousand hearts: while Charles Butterworth. the favourite “deadpan” comedia-n of laughs In “Orchids To You,” as a wealthy idler. The film has been greeted with great praise wherever it has played and State Theatre audiences aro promised a performance that will grip every spectator. Ruthelma Stevens, Harvey Stephens and Arthur Lake have featured roles in “Orchids To You,” which was produced by Robert T. Kane and directed by Willian A. Seiter.
“Love Me Forever” —Midnight Premiere Friday Next, At 10.30 p.m.
Heralded as the greatest picture ever recorded in tho history of the screen, Grace Moore’s new production, “Love Me Forever,” comes to the State Theatre on Friday next, commencing with a gala midnight premiere at 10.30 p.m. This mammoth attraction is at present smashing all attendance records throughout New Zealand and is acclaimed far greater than “One Night of Love.” The preferential booking plans are now open at the State Theatre, and patrons are advised that to reserve early is essential.
