ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE MEETS
The executive of tho Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association met in Palmerston North yesterday. Present: Messrs S. A. Broadbelt (chairman), J. Boyce, P. C. Raikes, J. R. Whyte and E. Algar. It was reported that the expenses of the two men engaged in making the economic survey of the dairy industry iu the Manawatu would ' probably amount to about £l5O. Remuneration was at £2 2s a day, expenses £1 Is and 44d a mile was allowed for car travel. The secretary stated that the investigation had by now been almost half completed. In the course of a discussion on the recent conference in Wellington, when t.ho new marketing proposals were brought down by the Dairy Board, satisfaction was expressed at the dogree of co-operation and uanimity that had been evident. A circular was received from the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association, protesting against the disparity of prices between exportable and uncxportablo pigs.—lt was resolved that the executive should lend its support to tho move, which involved a deputation to tho Executive Commission of Agriculture. No delegate was designated, it being i’olt that a letter would be equally effective and that there would be no dearth of representatives.
