McCREADY v. ANDRESEN Sometnmg new in the way of wrestling holds is likely to be seen in Palmerston North on Friday night when Earl McCready, the formidable Canadian, is to meet 010 Andresen, a Swcdish-American, in an eight-round bout. Andresen will not be making his first .appearance in Palmerston but gave such a wonderful display on the last occasion that many new patrons will come to see his methods. He is an unorthodox wrestler in that his legs are double-jointed and he is able to twist himself into peculiar knots. On tho defensive he has a “squat” which makes it almost impossible to secure a hold on him, and, when attacking lie has grips known as tho “Swedish clam'' and the “piiedriver scissor s.' Both tho two latter holds arc reputed to bo extremely effective, particularly when they form part of an all-round equipment such as Andresen possesses. Earl McUready is by now so well known to wrestling enthusiasts that lie requires no further introduction. He has shown the.public that they can always expect full value for their money while he is in the ring and he keeps the competitive element alive. The box plans open this morning at Collinson and Ounninghame’s.
