Obituary

MBS. NORMAN KERSEL. There passed peacefully away at a private hospital in Palmerston North on Priday morning after a week ot severe illness courageously borne, Gladys Evelyn, wife of Mr. Norman Kcrsel, of Rualiine street, Palmerston North. The youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Woodley, of Russell street, well-known and respected residents of the city, she received her primary education at the Newbury School, going on to the Palmerston Noith GirlsHigh School, forming there many friendships which were never to be broken in later life. She will ever be remembered in the Cuba Street Methodist Church, where before her marriage she was a member of the choir and teacher in the infant Sunday School, giving with her services the great enthusiasm and capability which marked everything she undertook. Also for some years she was a keen member of the Y.M.C.A. ladies’ gymnasium class. Hi ]93(T she married Mr. Norman Kersel, youngest son of Mrs. Kcrsel, of Ruahino street, and the particularly happy-marriage of only five years has been spent mainly in Palmerston North. Her joy of life and complete usefulness drew about her an increasingly wide circle of friends whom she never,,-fail <yl..to cheer with her keen interest.and..readv sympathy in their a .children of the Willard Home-.-will,.remember her as their staunch .and willing, helper! The wealth of beautiful floral emblems received expressed in some degree the sincere sympathy felt for her bereaved husband and relatives.
