TRUSTEES OF FUND SUGGESTED

The Manawatu Society of Arts advised (ho City Council last evening that at their last meeting the following resolution was passed: — “That this Council notes, with pleasure tho City Council's action is allocating this year the sum of £250 us a nucleus of a fund to bo applied to the establishment of an Art Gallery in Palmerston North, and has pleasure in contributing the sum of £25 to the fund at the same time suggesting that trustees be appointed to control this fund, cine of whom shall be a member of the Council of the Manawatu Society of Arts.”

It was resolved that the society be thanked for its donation and be informed that tho Council views favourably the suggestion regarding the appointment of trustees, and they be asked to consider other similar societies desiring representation, with a view to soliciting their co-operation.
