Ait outbreak of tire on .Saturday about midday totally destroyed the home of Mr and Mrs L. O. Alvc, of Rangitane. Mr Alve was busy on the fami and his wife was in the washhouse when the outbreak was discovered. The dwelling was a wooden one of four rooms. Mrs Alvc had returned to tho house and opened the back door when she was confronted by flames and smoke. The tire had such a firm hold that nothing could be done to save the building, but a party of men who arrived on the scene formed a bucket brigade and saved *he outbuildings from destruction. Except for a little bedding nothing was saved from the interior of the house, It is understood that both the dwelling and the furniture are covered by insurance. The origin of the outbreak is unknown.
