Mr Eclix Demeiy, London, examiner for the Operatic Association of Groat Britain, is visiting Palmerston North to conduct examinations.

Mr V. R. J. Stanley, statioumaster at Ureymoutb, has been appointed general secretary for tho Dominion of the Now Zealand Railway Officers' Institute, witli headquarters at Wellington, and has left to take up his new duties. Mr G. A. Legg, transport officer in the District Traffic Manager’s office, Christchurch, is relieving as stationmaster at Greymouth.

Dr. Bright Bannister, of Loudon, who was elected vice-president of the section of obstetrics and gynaecology at the recently concluded conference of the British Medical Associaton, arrived on Saturday in Palmerston North by car with Mrs Bannister and accompanied by Dr. Doris Gordon, of Stratford. In the evening he was the guest of tho Manawatu division of the B.M.A. at dinner and afterwards gave an address to the assembly, which included medicos from the Wanganui and Hawke’s Bay divisions of the B.M.A. Y'cstcrday morning he visited Hokowhitu links for a round of golf and in the afternoon left for Wellington accompanied by. Dr. Ewart, of Wellington.
