FOUNDER ARRIVES IN WELLINGTON. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. The founder cl the Legion of Front iei-3men in 1908 and veteran of man} wmrs, Captain Roger Pocock, arrived by tho Marama from Sydney to-day to spend a month tho Dominion.
lie is on a recruiting tour and states that ho has succeeded in creating groat interest in the movement in South Africa and Australia.
A month in Now Zealand visiting ail squadrons of the Legion of Frontiers men will be spent by Captain Roger Pocock. 110 is know-n as an author, one of his books, “Curley,” being still in popular demand. He is tho personality around which the serial story now running in a London weekly, The News of tho World, called “Tho Wolf Man,” is believed to have been written. Captain Pocock declared in an interview that frontiersmen were not militant war-seekers, but men organised and prepared should necessity call. He stated thcro were frontiersmen throughout Australia, New' Zealand, and various parts of tho Empire. He will bo tlio guest of tho local Squadron, oil Thursday evening next, and will be accorded a civic reception by his Worship the Mayor at 7.30 p.m. at tho City Council chambers.
