While shaving a mental patient at Callan Park Mental Asylum to-day. Alfred Irvine, aged 27, hospital attendant, was violently attacked by a patient and his throat slashed with the razor. A wound five inches in length was inflicted. . Ho fought strenuously with the patient and finally overpowered, him. Irvine's condition is critical.
