Valedictory Function

WOMEN’S PSYCHOLOGY CLUB There was a valedictory function in tho Y.W.C.A. rooms last Wednesday evening, when the Women’s Psychology Club met to farewell Mrs Bayliss, who is leaving to reside in Tauranga, Tho play-reading circle presented “Campbell of Kilmoor. ” The parts were ably taken by Mesdames Karton, Bayliss, MeKcwen, Small, Oates and Miss Fcrol Ilowley. The following items wero also contributed: — Pianoforte solo, Mrs F. Ilowley; monologue, “Billy, Me and You,” and recitation, “The West Wind,” Miss Audrey Oates; songs, “Poppies for Forgetting” and “For I Love You,” MrsF. Ilowley; humorous reading, “The Sentimental Bloke,” Mrs 0. Brown; Shakespearean recital’ and humorous sketch, Mr Gordon Oates. Tho competition was won by Mrs Karton and Miss F. Ilowley. Mrs Oates, president ■of the club, spoke of tho regret the members felt at the departure of Mrs Bayliss, and presented her with a fancy dish as a token of appreciation from tho club. The singing of “Auld Lang Sync” brought to a dose a very enjoyable evening.
