Letter mails close at the Chief Post Office as follow: Registered mails ore hour before letter mails. Books, packets, parcels and newspapers halt an hour before letter mails. Friday, July 20, at 2.30 p.m.: For Victoria, Western and South Australia and Tasmania, via Melbourne, p\e Waitaki (via Bluff). Friday, July 20, at -1.45 p.m.; letters only 8 p.m.: For Fiji, Apia, Pago Pago, Hawaiian Islands and Japan; also specially addressed correspondence for Canada, United States of America, West Indies, Argentine, Brazil, Uruguay, Falkland Islands, Great Britain, Ireland and Europe, per Monterey, from Auckland. Saturday, July 27, at 4.45 p.m.; letters only S p.m.: For G. Britain, Ireland and Europe (specially addressed correspondence only), Central America, Jamaica and South American Western States, via Cristobal, per Pakcha, from Auckland. Incoming Overseas Mails. (Arrival times approximate only.) July 2S: Monterey, from Sydney, via Auckland; Australian mail. August 1: Rangitane, from London, via Auckland; English mail. August 2: Wanganclla, from Sydney; Australian mail. August 10: Mariposa, from San Pedro, via Auckland; English and American mail.

Owing to delayed sailing of Niagara from Vancouver, all mails for New Zealand, with the exception of parcels, are being transferred to Mariposa, due to arrive at Auckland on August 9.

The postal authorities advise that the mail despatched from Palmerston North on June 24, via Vancouver, arrived at London on July 22.
