Tiritea

From Our Own Correspondent Valedictory.

The Aokautere hall was packed with the many friends ot Mr and Mrs Knudsen, residents of Tiritea, who are removing to Cambridge where they have purchased a farm. A very pleasant evening was spent in dancing and vocal and musical items. Excellent dance music was provided by 31essrs N. Greer, R. 1-Bill and C. Brill and Reid’s band. Songs were rendered by -Miss Monica Lynch, Mrs T. Lynch. Miss Kathleen Mcßrearty acted as pianist. Step dancing was ably presented by 31r and Mrs Knowles and musical items by Reid’s aecordeon band. After supper had been served Mr G. Greer, on behalf of 31r and Mrs Knudsen's friends, presented tlie guests of tlie evening with a dinner set, barometer and case of pipes. A solid leather suitcase was presented to -Master Ken Knudsen from his school friends by Master Keith Williams, who wished that Ken would soon pack his bag and visit his many friends in Tiritea. Mr. Greer spoke of tho very sterling qualities ot 3Lr and Mrs Knudsen as neighbours and their very kindly interest and labours of love in connection with the school, of which Air Knudsen served as a committeeman for several years. 3lr Knudsen suitably ivsponded. Little -Miss Dorothy Greer asked Mrs Knudsen to accept a beautiful bouquet from tlie children ot the Tiritea school. Musical honours were accorded tho guests of tlie evening. Amongst those present were Mrs Knudsen, wearing brown maroeain; Airs Knowles, floral:

Green, blue lace; Margaret Lvnch, yellow satin; N. Brill, pink crinkle crepe; Alary Lynch, blue taffeta; At. Devine, grey. At a into hour “Aubl Lang Svno” was sung and brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
