St. Pal’s juniors met Bunnylhorpe juniors on the domain last Saturday, when the local team was defeated by 6 points to nil. Play of a fairly even nature followed the kick off. Vigorous play by St Pats forwards put the reds’ line in danger, when a penalty awarded to tho reds relieved the pressure. After an exchange of kicks between the opposing backs, tlie reds carried play down to the green line and they had to force. A spelt of uninteresting play followed, with tho inside backs endeavouring to kick into an open space to put their side on the . attack. This method was mainly productive of a kicking duel with the exception of an occasional dash. Play was mainly confined to tlie forwards. Half time found no score recorded. The- second- spell opened full of promise. The greens immediately attacked down the one wing and were only kept out by solid tackling. From a scramble in the red half, E. Duthie secured and ran nearly half the length of the field, a bright movement which crumbled just short of the green line. From then on play slumped somewhat. After an exchange of kicks, the greens, following up smartly, bustled the red defenders and J. Hare scored in a handy position. Tlie kick missed. Infringements by tlie reds saw Delanty with a good kick find the uprights to put tlie greens six points up. From now on to tlie end of the game, tho greens pressed but. were unable to add to their total, which on tiie call of time read St. Pat's 6, Bunnylhorpe nil. Mr C. Pinfold was tlie referee.
