Permanent Fusion Supported
REFORM AND UNITED PARTIES It is understood that at a meeting hold this week of the Wellington executives of the Reform and United Parties a resolution was unanimously passed supporting the permanent fusion of the two political parties, to be known as the National Party.
Dunedin Sinks Party Difference's Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. A representative meeting of rnembcis of the Deform and United Party organisations was held here to-night, lion. E. Waite, M.L.C., outlined the steps that had so far been taken in consolidating the forces supporting the National Government. In Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch and in many country electorates joint meetings had been held. After a general discussion of the political situation it was agreed that there would be no difficulty in working together in Dunedin and the following resolution was unanimously agreed to: “That this meeting of Deform and United supporters in Dunedin is of opinion that party differences should cease and agrees to work harmoniously together in one organisation in support of the National Government candidates.” <
