Dwindling Patriotic Funds

AUCKLAND, Last Nig'lit. - The rapid rate at -which the fund of tlio Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association is decreasing is illustrated in the annual report of the executive. It is anticipated that should the rate of expenditure continue as at present the fund -will be exhausted in about four or live years. The report states that the Claims Board considered 5021 applications, 3130 being assisted. The fund has now been reduced to £52,900. The original capital of the fund in 1915 was £371,101, but additional donations and interest received increased it to £034,919.
