Bulls

From Our Own Correspondent. Parewanui School Function.

The Bulls town hall was crowded for tho Parewanui school euchre and dance on Tuesday night, visitors being present in large numbers from as far afield as Dlarton and Palmerston North. The nondancers were catered for with a euchre tournament and Dir. O. Reid supervised the cards. Those winning most games were Dlrs. F. Hart (Dlarton) and Dir. F. Lovell (Tutaenui), the former playing off with Dlrs. Larsen and Dliss Loft. Consolation awards were made to Dlrs. DI. Anderson and Dir. T. Rodgers. Dir. Eric Bills, of Palmerston North, gave an exhibition of tap dancing which was greatly appreciated, as was a bracket of xylophone solos by Dir. Fred Gedson. Extras were Messrs. C. Sharp (Otaki) and P. Rewiti. AATnners of novelty dances were: Dliss L. Rogers and partner (Dlonte Carlo valeta), and Dliss Holland and partner. Miniature Rifle Shooting. The weekly shoot of the Bulls Dliniature Rifle Club, postponed from Monday night, was held on Tuesday, when, owing to counter-attractions, there was a smaller attendance than usual. N. Amon repeated his fine performance of a fortnight ago by scoring a double "possible.” Details of tho shoot are as follow: N. A [non 70. 70, 140; C. DI. Broughton 69, 70. 130; R. AYhite 68, 66. 134; C. Anderson 64, GS, 182; G. Ellery 64, 67, 131; A. Tattle 62, SS, 120; S. Harris 63, 61, 121: A. Walker 46, 53, 105; R. McKenzie 65; A. Connolly 47. The Ohakea team recorded 1097 in jih Inter-club shoot this week, dropping only 23 points on the aggregate possible. This represents a very high standard of shooting and a repetition of such form would find the Bulls team fully extended to hold tlie trophy. Bulls will be without tlio services of T. Pritchard for the first time in the past three or four seasons and tho absence of this consistently brilliant shot will weaken the defence of the home team. Rangitikei Racing Club. The Rangitikei Racing Club has bees advised by the Department of Internal Affairs that it has been allowed a rebate of 21 per cent, refund on tiie totalisatof taxation, for March meeting. This represents £163 17s 3d to the club. Personal.

Dliss E. A. Burt, of Christchurch, is at present visiting Bulls as the guest ot Dlrs, T. H. Rudd.

Dir. and Dlrs. 11. Hendry visited Dlasterton for the week-end. Dlrs. J. T. Horne returned to AVoodvilie after spending a few days in Bulls as tlie guest of Dir. and Dlrs. Hendry.
