Mr. William Vestey, a director of the Bluo Star Line, and a son of Lord Vestey, has been spending a short holiday in New Zealand. Ho visited Palmerston North, being then on his way north. Mr. Vestey is now iri tho South Island, and is to return to England by way of the west const of America where he is interested in the fruit industrv.
lii the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes moved a motion placing on record recognition of the high services rendered to New Zealand by the late Mr. J. R. Corrigan, a former member of the House, and tendering sympathy to his widow. The motion was carried and the House adjourned till 7.30 p.m. as a mark of respect.—Press Association.
