Kairanga
From Our Own Correspondent. The B team from Aokautere journeyed to Kairanga last Saturday to play a friendly tennis match with the local B team. The games, which were closely and keenly fought, resulted In the final score being in favour of the local team by 12 sets to 7, and 93 games to 65. Afternoon tea'served by the ladies of the Kairanga team and the ideal weather which prevailed assisted in making the afternoon a very pleasant one. Kalranga players are mentioned first in the detailed scores:— Ladies' singles: Mrs. L. Clark lost to Miss M. Anderson, 4—6; Mrs. H. Turner beat Mrs. L. Craven, 6—l; Mrs. K. Mitchell beat Miss N. Brill, 6—2; Miss E. Burmeister beat Mrs. A. Ferguson, 6—4. Men’s singles: R. Kirkland lost to W. Anderson, junr., 2—6; R. Mitchell beat Fi Judd, 6—2; C. Burmeister beat W. Hopcroft, 6—3; S. Burmeister lost to T 7. Anderson, senr., 3—6; A. Parkin beat L. Craven, 6—o; F. Cummins lost to W. Anderson, senr., 3 —6.
