Mr. J. Robertson, Dominion secretary of the Motion Picture Exhibitors’ Association, has been selected as the official Labour candidate for the Masterton seat. He formorly represented Otaki in the House of Representatives from 1911 to 1915. —Press Association.

The death occurred suddenly at Masterton yesterday morning of Rev. James Crocker, a former Methodist minister and prominent prohibition advocate. Ho was aged 73. Mr. Cocker was stationed at various times at Christchurch, Auckland, Wellington, Ashburton and Wanganui.

Representatives from every section of the community were present at the interment of Mr C. J. W. Barton at the Hamilton East cemetery yesterday. The funeral was an impressive one. Deceased was one of Ilamiltons’ oldest citizens, who served for many years on the borough council, hospital board and other bodies.—Press Association.
