“King George's Trust"
PRINCE AND BRITISH YOUTH (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 2. A cordial reception is accorded in all quarters to tho national movement launched last night by the Prince of Wales to aid the organisation providing for the welfare of youth as a means of commemorating the jubilee of tho King’s accession to the throne. Tho Prince announced his plans at a meeting at St. James’ Palace, to which the Lord Lieutenants, Lord Mayors, and Mayors of all the principal cities and towns of tho United Kingdom wero invited. He said that he could think of no call that made such a universal appeal as tho cause of youth, and ho had ascertained that nothing would give their- Majesties such pleasure as the devotion of a national thankoffering to the welfare of tho younger generation. Ho invited subscriptions, pennies as well as pounds, to be sent to him, and also asked the Mayors and others to open local subscriptions on behalf of the fund to establish a ‘‘King George’s Trust.” The work would be not to inaugurate any new juvenile organisation, but to extend the work and activities of the existing voluntary movements. "Youth, as I seo it,” said the Prince,.“needs three things to lit it for life —discipline, friends, and opportunity. Thcso three gifts are in our power.”

NEWSPAPER TRIBUTE LONDON, March 2. Newspapers emphasise . that the Prince of Wales has given ah inspiring load. The Times, in a -leader, says: “It is tho English way to see tho occasion not as one for tho exaltation of tho State or the-glorification of authority, but for ensuring the developing and well-being of youth. The proposal', if thoroughly supported, will provide a living memorial to the jubilee in tho citizenship of ten, twenty, and thirty years ahead.” Tho “Daily Telegraph” says that the Prince of Wales stressed that he is calling no now organisation into being. He asks for a large national’ fund from which generous help can be given to organisations already promoting t-hs welfare of youth.
The Jubilee Film
LONDON, March 3.
Thirty nations have ordered the jubilee film, “The King, God Bless Him, ” which is being produced in Britain, and special versions are being prepared for foreign countries. The English version will be circulated throughout the Empire and the United States, and will be released on May C.
