From Our Own Correspondent Tennis Tournament.

Members of the Apiti, Umutoi and Rangiwahia Bible Classes had a very enjoyable day on Friday last, when fliey held a Yankee tennis tournament on tllt( Apiti courts. Three rounds of combined doubles were played and this resulted in a tie between Alisses J. Searle and D. Fankhauser and Alessrs. W. Organ and N. Hart. The play-off resulted in a win for Aliss Searle and Air. Organ. The games scores were:—

First round.—Aliss J. Searle and N. Hart beat Miss Patchett and L. Hem-, tilings 25—12; Aliss J. Aloess and. H. McKenzie beat Joan Mapson and C. Alapson 8; Aliss D. Fankhauser and .T. Carr beat Airs Patchett and. B. Forbes 22; Aliss Boshier and S. Aloess beat Aliss D. Hemmings and J. Boshier 7; Miss Carey, and! W. Hart beat Aliss White and M. Searle 25—17; Aliss O. Hammings and W. Organ won the round.

Second round.—Aliss O. Hammings' and ,T. Boshier lost to Aliss Carey and C. Afapson 11—25; Aliss Boshier and B, Forbes beat Joan Alapson and L. Hemmings 25 21; Miss Patchett and S. Aloess lost to Aliss Fankhauser and AT. Searle 17—25; Aliss White and N. Hart beat Aliss D. Hemmings and H, AlcKenzie 25—23; Airs. Patchett and W. Hart heat Aliss G. Aloess and J. R. Carr 25—10; Miss J. Searle and W. Organ won the round.

Third round. —Aliss Joan Alapson and H. AlcKenzie heat Miss O. Hemmings and J. Carr 25—14; Aliss Fankhauser and S. Aloess beat Aliss Boshier and J. Boshier 25—17; Aliss White and N. Haft beat Alisa Carey and C. Alapson 25—24; Airs. Fatchett and B. Forbes beat Aliss G. Aloes 3 and L. Hemmings 25 —20; Aliss D. Hemmings and AX. Searle beat Aliss Patchett and W. Hart 25—14; Aliss J. ed during the day. The trophies were presented by Airs. Searle. The Rev. P. Patchett, who had organised the tournament, also spoke.. The thanks of the Bible Classes are duo to the Apiti Tennis Club, for the free use of the courts. School Picnic.

The annual school picnic was held on the domain on Saturday. As weather conditions were perfect, there was a big attendance of parents and children from Rangiwahia and the surrounding schools. A very jolly time was spent by the children in playing games, a paper chase being especially enjoyed. A meeting of the general committee was held on Saturday night, when it was found that arrangements were progressing most successfully for the annual show next week. Mr. J. Watt made mention of the loss the society had suffered in the death of Mr. G. Kreger, one of the vice-presidents and oldest members of the committee. Mr. Kreger had been one of the most enthusiastic members and a very keen worker for as long as the show had been held.
