AFTERNOON TEA FOR PLUNKET SOCIETY' '■ Mr. aud Mrs. if. Young on Sunday kindly gavo permission to the Ivimbol-ton-Kiwitea sub-branch of the Plunkct Society to provide afternoon tea for the many garden enthusiasts who flocked from far and near to view the asters for which Mr. Young's garden is so famed., In full bloom on the slope of a hill the flowers which grow in great abundance presented a very beautiful sight and in the bright glow of sunshine gave one the impression of a wonderful carpet woven in the richest and gayest of colours. Visitors were present from Palmerston North, Pending, Rangiwahia, Mangaweka and all the surrounding districts and the majority, after their journey, were glad of the opportunity both to enjoy the good things provided by Mrs. C. L. Williams (president of the branch), her committee and outside helpers, and also to assist in a small degree so deserving a cause as the Plunket Society. Next Sunday Mr. Young's grounds will again be open to the public and tea will be dispensed by the Kimbolton-Kiwitea branch of the W.D.F.U. that has hopes of benefiting as substantially from the afternoon as did the Plunket Society.
