CLAUDETTE COLBERT’S BROTHER TAKES ASSUMED NAME Under the name of Charles Wendling, Claudette Colbert’s brother has been discovered working as a assistant director at the
Paramount Studios, using his anonymity to fight the possible change of favouritism; for he won his joh on his own merits. Ilis identity was made known by Douglas Blackley, a recently signed Paramount player, who once played with a New England stock company for which Wendling was press agent. The latter is working as assistant to Director Ralph Murphy in “Ale Without You,” in which. Blackley is playing. The production is on Paramount’s schedule for 1935.
Several years ago, Wendling worked in the Paramount Long Island Studio at the time Claudette was filming most of her pictures there. Hi? relationship was known then, and he felt that it hindered him in making good on his own efforts.
