To come home from her holidays expecting to find a tidy house, and to find instead every drawer and cupboard combed through and the contents strewn around in profusion, was the experience of the head teacher of the local school. Apparently the burglars were bent on finding money, and not being very successful, proceeded to vent their spite on the furnishings. Blinds were pulled right down, and a small mat had been pinned against a small window with knives. Other mats were pulled up. As far as can be ascertained, the thieves must have entered this last week, as only since then had the blinds been noticed pulled right down. Three used cups were on a bench. Beyond a torch, some jewellery, and small , sums of money belonging to tlie school, nothing further appears to have been pilfered, although a fairly large sum of money was in the house, undiscovered by the intruders.
