At the Wrong Counter
Scene: A bank. Enter, unsteadily, a man who has been celebrating something too early and too merrily. “Pint of bitter,” he shouts. Clerk, icily: Sir, this is a not a public-house. Exit man, unsteadily. Two minutes later, re-enter man (still unsteady): “Pint of —oh, sorry, another darned bank.”
