A dance to aid tlio candidature of Miss Beryl Oakley, tlio Garrison Band Queen, :in the bn rids’ queen carnival, was held at the Band hall on Saturday evening. A professional orchestra supplied the music and supper arrangements wore in the hands of Mrs. C. G. Hayward, Miss V. Royal, Miss M. Hodson and helpers. SAND-SWEPT BISCUITS. Cream -Acup Butter, add I cup Sugar and well-beaten egg. Sift 1$ cups flour, 2 toaspoons baking powder, i teaspoon Cinnamon and add. Fold in stifflybeaten egg white and add few drops of Stevens’ "Cathedral Brand" Essence of Almonds. Roll thin, cilt in rounds and when on tray place on blanched almond halves. Bako 20 minutes.
