A Church Dispute
BAPTIST MINISTER’S APPEAL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the Supreme Court to-day Oswald Machattic, of Auckland, and formerly the Baptist Minister at Napier, appealed for a mandamus commanding the Baptist Union of New Zealand to reinstate his name on the official list of ministerial members of the Union and submitted that the removal of his name was irregular and void. The defence was that Machattio’s name was removed constitutionally. Legal arguments is proceeding. After legal argument the case was adjourned sine die to enable tho parties to discuss the question of a settlement out of Court.
