After a brief illness the death occurred oji Monday of Mr. Henry B Ricketts, of (iS Featherstono street. He leaves a widow and one daughter, Mrs. Bryan Simpson, of Palmerston North. The death occurred at the Dannevirko Hospital on Saturday night of Mr. James Venle, a highly respected resident of Porangahau. Mr. V calc was the father of Messrs. Thomas Vcalc and Jack Vcalc, Oroua Downs. Visiting Wellington at present is Colonel Charles L. Lindemen, D. 5.0., Legion d’Honncur, Mons Star, who has had a distinguished military career, during which he served right through the Great War. Ho was appointed vicepresident. of the International War Claims Commission upon the cessation of hostilities. Colonel Lindemen, with his brother, Mr. F. A. Lindemen, was well known in tennis circles at the time the late Anthony Wilding (New Zealand), whose friends they were, was the English champion. Colonel Lindemen, who is accompanied by his French wile, intends spending a month lishing at Taupo before returning to England. — Press Association.
