Settlement of Lena Goldfields Dispute
AGREEMENT WITH SOVIET (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Nov. 12. Replying to a Parliamentary question regarding the agreement signed in Moscow by tho representatives of the Lena Goldfields and of tho Soviet Government, Colonel Colvillo said he understood that it was subject to ratification by tho company's shareholders and provided for tho payment by the Soviet Government of £3,000,000 over a period of twenty years; £50,080 would be paid down on ratification, and there would be twenty instalment's of £92,500, followed by a further twenty instalments of £55,000, to bo paid at six-monthly intervals, beginning ou May 1 next.
