Surgery in Old Egypt Reproduced To-day

LONDON, Nov. 12. ■ A series of astonishing operations, based on tho work of Egyptian doctors two thousand years ago, have been accomplished at the Royal Waterloo Hospital for Children. They consist of the removal of a part of the whole of a child's lung when the patient is suffering either from cancer of bronchiectasis The Egyptian surgeons derived considerable knowledge of pulmonary operations through experiments on condemned criminals, as Celsus records. The Egyptian practice is now applied in modern surgery.
