Mr. Thomas Harry Colpman, of Waikanae, wlio was recognised for many years ns one of the foremost breeders of cattle in the Dominion, passed away in the Palmerston North Hospital at the age of 82 years. Advice was received yesterday by Mr. H. C. (inlanders, of College street, Palmerston North, that his brother, Mr. James Gillanders, of Hills road, Christchurch, had passed away. Mr. E. C. Gillunders left yesterday for Christchurch, where the funeral will take place. The late Mr. Gillanders was a prominent member of the Masonic craft. Mr Hollis Hill, the former headmaster of the Collingwood School, and Mrs Hill, were, tendered a farewell by a crowded gathering in the Collingwood Public Hull on Wednesday night (states a telegram from Napier). The speakers included the chairman of the Ooiliiigwood County Council, Rev. Mr Ives (the vicar), Dr. Andrew, and Mr C. P. McNabb. All said Mr Hill had rendered great service to the children and Collingwood, and said his departu.ro was widely regretted. Several presentations were made.
