MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS. At a meeting of the management committee of the Manawalu Cricket Association last night,. Mr. A. M. Ongley was in the chair. Also present were: Messrs. E. Brace (secretary), E. ,T. Worry, J. Gavcy, E. Weir, G. Griggs, W. E. Norris, N. Gallichan. The United Club asked that it be allotted two practise wickets. The club is also to be advised that players remaining on the defaulters' list cannot be used for matches until removed from the list. The timekeeper at the Sportsground advised that on Saturday last, when the timekeeping was called in question, he rang the bell promptly at (5.30, but in the "old Boys v. Y.M.C.A. match a new ever was commenced after the bell sounded. Mr. W. 11. Wilson, unable to attend, wrote suggesting the appointment of a Wednesday sub-committee. The matter was deferred for a week. Games for October 31 are:— Fcilding (m.) v. Combined Services, Fcilding; Kiwi (m.) v. P.D.C., Sportsground outer area, No. 3. Messrs. Onglcy, Gavcy and Gallichan were constituted a postponement committee. It was decided to circularise clubs asking for prompt registration. Mr. Weir suggested that at Christmas time a junior cricket competition should be held, with teams visiting from Napier, Wanganui, Hastings, Wnirarapa, Fcilding and Manauatu. !h. outsiders could camp at the campingground, and there would be little expense for the association. It would be left open for other centres to reciprocate another year.
