The first Teports of tho Ministry of Transport order extending to all builtup areas in the United Kingdom the establishment of a silent zone for motor horns between 11.30 p.m. and 7 a.m. show that motorists have responded loyally to the appeal and the < experiment is greeted with a chorus of approval. A general slowing-down of traffic is reported, but while one source of noise is thus eliminated the problem of other night noises remains to be dealt with.
