The letter is dated August 30 and states:— "I want to convey to you my thanks for having given mo the opportunity of refereeing such a fine body of players and sportsmen. Their behaviour both on the held and off speaks volumes for the lino influence which you had on the members of tho team. In a fairly long record of refereeing international, intcr-Dominion, and other first-class Rugby games, last Saturday’s Test will always live in my memory for the truly fine sporting spirit in which tho players of each sido played. I was sorry time did not permit of a talk after the game. However, we may be able to discuss much by correspondence and I will write you in this regard at a later date. Trusting you will visit Australia at some not too distant date, and again thanking you for having made it possible for me to have participated in such an enjoyable game.” Taranaki Beat Bay of Plenty WI-lAKATANE, Sept. 5.
