From Our Own Correspondent. The local Miniature Rifle Club entered a team in the Wellington championship meeting held on the King's Birthday and succeeded in reaching second place In the teams match. In addition all members shared in the prize money. The Stores were as follow:—H. Hill 99. 99, 98 —296; G. Wiggins 97, 90, 97—290; E. Simpson 95, 95, 98—288; H. Ellery 98, 9», 95 288. On Friday evening postal shoots will be conducted on the local range. . , ~ There was a good attendance at the general meeting held on Wednesday evening when Mr. F. O. Bailey presided. Matters connected with the organisation of the club were discussed at length and general business transacted. Arrangements were made for the forthcoming dance in aid of the club’s funds. The senior team to play Ilongotea at Rongotea on Saturday will be selected from the following:—Pedersen (2). Frecklington (2), Royal, Richardson, Bartlett, Cole, Klatt, Wereta, Harris, Page, Capstick, Lacey, Gray, Bailey, Ivoberstein. Walker and H. Vile. The team is to assemble at the hall at 1.30 p.m. sharp. The juniors to play Kaimatarau at Ohaltea will be selected from the following:—Quinlan, Ellery (2), Knight, Robinson, Brightwell, Cockburn (2), I). Murray. Keats, Brassington, Ayres, Wiggins, Woolford, Ingrain, llazlewood, Grell, Mr. H. Dixon, who has been relieving head teacher at the school during the absence of Mr. I. N. Leet on sick leave, completed his duties at the end of last week. . Measles have made their appearance in tho school and tho attendanco has fallen considerably.
