Utuwai
Under the auspices of the l tuwal W.l. a dance was held in tho local hall on Tuesday night. The large number present danced - popular old-time and jn 7.7, numbers until the early hours to excellent music supplied by Miss M. .Signal (Umutoi). Extras were played by Misses .1 .Searle and IC. Roberts and Mr. T. Searle. Tlie duties M.(_. were capably performed by Mr. B. M. Hava 11. The president, Mrs. Ulavall, was wearing a dainty frock of lloral silk phine polls, whilst Mrs. S. Adlington (secretary) wore black crepe de chine. An antple supper provided by the ladies was served expeditiously. . The junior members of the Utuwai \\ .1. are engaged in rehearsing a. playette to be staged at the Women's Institute concert and dance to he held in the Utuwai hall. Messrs K. Searle and M. Searle. of Pin Piri, are at present holidaying in Auckland. The Utuwai school reopened on Monday. All signs of snow have receded and the'weather is decidedly warmer.
