AMERICA MAY FORCE “SHOWDOWN.” Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. NEW YORK, May 9. The New York Herald-Tribune's Washington correspondent understands that the contest committee of the National Aeronautic Association will start a series of conferences on Wednesday and probably bring to a “showdown” the controversy over the eligibility rules for the Maerobertson race.
